Series: The Cleopatra Fox Mysteries by C.J. Archer
I don't recall how I came upon The Cleopatra Fox Mysteries by C.J. Archer. I believe I saw a list of good mysteries via email and as I was looking to see if Hoopla had any on audio this series came up as similar. I'm glad I found it. The audio series has several things I enjoy: a good mystery, an interesting setting, fun characters, and a narrator with an accent.
In book one, Murder at the Mayfair Hotel we meet Cleo Fox, orphaned young lady whose grandmother recently died and she is now alone in the world. Alone until her estranged uncle invites her to stay in the fancy London hotel they own and manage.
When a guest is found dead, the adventure begins. Cleo, young and rash, decides it's up to her to solve the case, for various reasons including the hotel's reputation and fear that Scotland Yard will overlook suspects because of nepotism.
I also listened to book #2 Murder at the Piccadilly Playhouse and #3 Murder in the Drawing Room. I did enjoy them all but I liked the first two books better than the third.
If you're in the mood for a cozy English mystery, I recommend them.

What a great write up! Can’t wait to read it! Thanks!
